Cephalodidge are a UK based tribal folk band that play 'totally enchanting music' based around the didgeridoo, djembe and lap/slide guitar. Many of their songs express a deep love of the land and ocean. Cephalodidge has performed at many festivals and events, including Le Reve de l'Aborigene in France, witchfest International, The Mercian Gathering, Small World festival and Surf and Roots festival.  Cephalodidge has supported the Dolmen, Damh the Bard and Wille and the Bandits. In 2012 cephalodidge's debut album 'The Path' received very favorable reviews and is a unique, atmospheric and enchanting journey.
2013 sees the release of cephalodidge's second album 'ostara'. Named after an ancient Goddess of springtime this is a powerful and emotive album full of depth and colour. Adding rhythm and trance to the music is Joe's virtuoso didgeridoo playing. There are also many other styles present in the songs including rock/blues and folk guitar, reggae and tribal drumming. The album holds a strong message of respect for each other and the world around us.

'Ostara' by Cephalodidge is available via the Shop link on this website.
2013 also saw the release of 'Earth in the North'....a new mini-album. The CD also includes Cephalodidge's first ever recording from 2005, 'Cephalopod', Presently 'out of stock'.
As well as writing and playing the music for Cephalodidge, Joe makes his own didgeridoos and teaches people how to play. He has been playing didgeridoo for 19 years and is an experienced and outstanding teacher who has taught all ages of people around the UK. Joe's passion for the didgeridoo is led by his knowledge of how beneficial and healing an instrument the didgeridoo is. The didgeridoo is one of the planet's most ancient instruments and has the ability to change people's lives.
Joe can be booked to give group workshops and sessions with the didgeridoo. He often visits schools to introduce children to Aboriginal culture and has delivered workshops at festivals and events all around the UK. Please follow the Contact link to book a session or check out the Tour page for events.
The didgeridoos that Joe makes can be purchased via the Hedgeridoo link on this site. Joe only uses wood from sustainable sources (windblown or dead trees) and each of his instruments is unique and lovingly handcrafted.
